30031, built in 1913 in Baltimore
Case finish:
Satin ebony
Work performed:
New soundboard, bridges, pinblock, strings, plate hitch pins, tuned duplex aliquots, and agraffes. Ronsen Weickert-felt hammers, Tokiwa hammer shanks, Renner whippens. Tokiwa damper system fitted with individual capstans. New toplid, music desk frame, Empire-style legs and pedal lyre. Original brass hardware refinished, new huge steamroller casters (lockable).
Character:
Touchweight is moderate (neither too light nor too heavy), effortless key response. Tone is exactly what a concert instrument should be: from whisper-like to thunderous. Artist testimonials: "The piano plays itself; the sustain is endless; the tone is pearlescent; you can elicit anything you desire from this piano."
Price:
$165,000, with matching artist bench, black Macintosh cover, and standard Baltimore-area delivery. Delivery to anywhere in the world can be arranged at additional terms. Compare this magnificent instrument to new 9' pianos from any maker, priced at least $35,000 higher. 5-year guarantee.
